At present, our high school scholarship program is open to graduating seniors enrolled in the JROTC program at: Booker High School, Riverview High School, Sarasota High School, Sarasota Military Academy and Venice High School.
Our Merit scholarships are open to graduating seniors at Booker High School, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School, Pine View School, Riverview High School, Sarasota High School, Sarasota Military Academy, and Venice High School.
Unfortunately, we can only accept applications from students at the above schools.
The number of scholarships and the amount of the scholarships awarded is decided by our board of Directors each January. In 2021 we awarded (15) $2,000 scholarships. These consisted of (5) JROTC scholarships and (10) merit scholarships.
The Scholarship Committee chair visits each participating high school to advertise and promote the program. In addition, letters are sent to each school guidance counselor and Senior Military Instructor (SMI) to focus their attention on the opportunities available to their students.

Should a JROTC Scholarship or a Merit Scholarship not be utilized due to non-submission or ineligibility of the nominee, the scholarship money will be reallocated by the Scholarship Committee.
Scholarship winners will be advised in writing of their award. The awards letter will instruct the recipient as to the requirement to furnish the Scholarship Committee chair proof of enrollment (not an acceptance letter) from the college, university, or technical school they will be attending. Only when these documents have been received will the check be issued and presented at the Scholarship Awards Luncheon held in May each year.
If the scholarship winner has not complied with this requirement by January 31st of the following year, the award will be forfeited.
